Skate hire

Before you venture out onto the ice you’ll need to hire some skates, unless you have your own. Pick up your boots from the Skate Hire area which is just behind Blades Ice-Bar. We have a large selection of skates with either hockey skate blades or figure skate blades, our skates range in size from child size 6 to adult size 14 (EU: 26 - 48).

Be aware, on some busy sessions demand can be high for skates.

Always remember to ensure your skates are done up correctly prior to going onto the ice.

Blades Ice-Bar

Blades Ice-Bar is remaining closed at the moment but vending machines are available in the skate hire area.

FREE Wi-Fi available

We provide lockers for you to keep your belongings safe whilst you’re on the ice. We no longer use locker tokens, the lockers are now coin retain and cost 20p.

What to wear

Comfortable warm clothing is essential along with a pair of socks! The centre is quite cold, however once you start skating you’ll soon warm up. Wearing a few layers allows you to take off or add clothing when you need to. A pair of gloves is also advisable. Gloves and socks are available to purchase from the Skate Shop.

We ask that all visitors wear face coverings at all times except when ice skating.

Safe skating code

We want you to enjoy your visit to the centre as much as possible. Please abide by this code which will help you to skate in a manner that's safe for you and others.
