In March 2009 the Authority’s Sports Development team went through its first Quest assessment and was given a successful ‘commended’ score of 73% across the range of nearly 100 management criteria that are assessed. Particular strengths that emerged through the assessment were the commitment and enthusiasm of the team; the degree to which internal sections and colleagues work together to deliver the sports development agenda; and the Authority’s very clear focus on its Regional agenda, and how this shapes the operation and planning of the sports development activities. The areas of improvement which the assessment picked out will be addressed via an ongoing Service Improvement Plan which the Sports Development team will take forward with colleagues and external partners
